Introduction 
A fable has the intrusion of the gods and the funeral pyre, but fin'amor too. The "romance" isn't a romance because it includes romance; it's a romance because it's written in romance.
Statement
The nun's priest is a fable. 
Explanation and example
There are talking animals in this tale like 'fox-you idiot! fox!' Or 'go away you stupid yokels! I've got the cock now! And I'm going to eat him up!'. The moral to this story is 'remember to be on your guard against flatterers and all those who open their mouth when they should keep them shut!. Talking animals and morals are thing that are always found in fables. The animals have human like characteristics, because this way a human reader can associate with the story. Animals prove something through out the story. Fables are to show people and to make them realise that their actions and behaviour. This stories are mostly told to children to help them make the right decisions in life.

In conclusion the nun's priest's tale is a fable because of it's moral which teaches us that flatter is wrong and bad and we should on uur guard against it.
